Invisalign clear aligners are removable high grade plastic polymer appliances that are made to move your teeth. Unlike traditional metal braces they are not fixed semi permanently to teeth. Invisalign can be removed while eating and brushing by patients.

Traditional braces contains high grade stainless steel brackets
These are traditional braces which contains high grade stainless steel brackets and wires. With the help of elastics, wire is held inside the brackets. Till few years back it used to be a common type of braces, but no more. Due to recent advances and availability of new clear braces option it’s use is getting declined.
Relatively clear in comparison to metal braces
Ceramic Braces are relatively clear in comparison to metal braces. When an aesthetic requirement of patients is mild to moderate they can opt for ceramic braces, as they can’t be recognised from a distance. Another point to notice here is that treatment duration with these braces is little longer in comparison with metal braces. Ceramic braces are brittle material, so you need to take extra caution with them. Eating hard food with ceramic will chip-off ceramic brackets and unnecessarily increase emergency clinic visits.
Self Ligating braces don't require elastics to hold wire
Traditional braces uses elastics that holds wire inside the brackets. This elastics creates more pressure and friction which in turn results in less efficient tooth movement and longer treatment duration. These elastics have a tendency to collect food particles on it’s surface which results in poor oral hygiene.
Self Ligating braces don’t require elastics to hold wire in place , instead wires are held in place by sliding doors in the bracket.
Phase I Treatment
This treatment helps at a stage when children’s jaws are still actively growing and teeth are easier to move. This early treatment can result in shorter treatment duration at later stage while decreasing severity of malocclusion.
Not all children need early orthodontic treatment, however having early orthodontic consultation with orthodontist will be beneficial.
Orthodontic treatment is effective for TMJ disorder.
Temporomandibular joint is responsible for opening and closing of mouth, chewing and bitting. When this joint is over stressed it can cause pain and tenderness, clicking noises, headache, ear aches and even locking of jaws. The above mentioned symptoms are associated with temporomandibular joint disorder.
Dental devices that covers upper and lower teeth.
Mouthguards are dental devices that covers upper and lower teeth. Mouthguard protects your teeth from trauma caused by sports injuries. Children or adults might need a mouthguard if they play contact sports like boxing, basket ball, football, hockey.
Very critical to use retainers after orthodontic treatment.
Retainers are given at the end of orthodontic treatment. The function of retainer is to hold the in newly moved position till the bone and tissues around the teeth get adapted to their new position. Without use of retainers teeth tends to move back to original position.
